Xavier University to Screen Reparando
Xavier University in Cincinnati will offer a screening of Reparando, a documentary about the efforts to rebuild Guatemala after 36 years of civil war. The film will be shown on Tuesday, October 19 at 7 p.m. in Xavier's Cintas Center Schiff Conference Room 2. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.
Guatemala was ravaged by civil ware, but its victims refisit their painful past to help the next generation. This is their story, as told through two individuals, Shorty, a former gang member, is now a pastor. Tita started a school in Guatemala's most notorious slum, La Limonada. They have joined forces to repair the area for youth.
Donations from the screening will go to four Guatemala initiatives: Love the Child children’s home, La Limonada, The Center for Transforming Missions, and a small amount toward production of the film.
